The Shift Manager on duty, assisted by security officers, the P2K3 team and the Fire Department (Damkar) swiftly controlled the situation. In a short time, after comprehensive coordination between the internal TPS, TPS Fire Team and Pelindo, the fire was quickly contained.

The fire turned out to be a scenario for the implementation of a Drill or a Fire Hazard Handling simulation organized by the TPS P2K3 Team. This drill was carried out to identify and re-evaluate the readiness of personnel in dealing with and overcoming fire hazards that could occur at any time at TPS.

TPS President Director, Abdul Rofid Fanany said that this exercise aims to increase the alertness of TPS personnel in the event of a fire in the TPS working area, so that all parties know what to do and how to coordinate it, so that the threat of fire hazard can be immediately overcome without causing casualties and minimizing losses that arise, considering that TPS is a vital national object.

This drill activity involved the TPS internal team which included the P2K3 Team, Port Security, the TPS Fire Brigade team and Pelindo. Also witnessing the implementation of the Drill, TPS stakeholders, namely the Head of Tanjung Perak Main Port Authority Office and Head of Tanjung Perak Main Port Authority Office.

With the implementation of this fire drill, it is hoped that the TPS P2K3 Team and Security Officers at the TPS, including the operational team involved, have the ability to manage risks, especially in dealing with all possible fire threats, which of course can endanger the lives of workers and have the potential to damage port facilities at TPS. can coordinate with related parties, determine the level of regional security as well as take preventive measures as well as the necessary handling in accordance with established procedures.

"At any time the threat of a fire hazard can occur, that's why we need to carry out today's activities, in the future I want the drill to be carried out at night because at night there are not as many officers as in the morning, so we need to simulate what steps can be taken. we do it at night with all the limitations,” said Abdul Rofid Fanany, who is familiarly called Ifan.
