TPS SHARE: HELP PACKAGE OF BASIC NEEDS TO
THE UNLOADING WORKFORCE, TRUCK DRIVER AND IMPACTED PEOPLE OF COVID-19
Surabaya (22/5) - As a form of social awareness in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Surabaya Container Terminal (TPS) as a subsidiary of Pelindo III, provides as many as 1,100 food packages worth 300 thousand to 600 Unloading Workers (TKBM) , a tally officer and IT Helpdesk team, 200 truck drivers in the TPS work area, and 300 residents of Gresik PPI Market and Jalan Jepara Market located in the Kemayoran sub-district, krembangan sub-district affected by COVID-19.
Located in the TPS Administration building, the Aid was handed over symbolically directly by the TPS Board of Directors and was accompanied by the Head of the Tanjung Perak Port Authority and the Tanjung Perak Police Ops Chief.
This is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity as a form of appreciation to workers who support operational activities at the TPS, as well as the TPS's concern for the local residents.
TPS Managing Director, Dothy said that although the business world is currently facing the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak, the spirit of unity and humanity must be upheld to ease the burden on the government and society.
"We are also concerned about the impact felt by the people in Indonesia. We believe that all parties have a role, and close collaboration between institutions is one of the important keys in efforts to tackle the covid-19 virus," concluded Dothy.
TPS has also planned to allocate a social fund of 187 million for the purchase of ITS-Airlangga Robot Medical Assistant or abbreviated RAISA which will later be submitted to the PHC Hospital where the PHC Hospital is a referral hospital for patients affected by COVID-19. RAISA is a robot that replaces medical personnel whose job is to treat corona patients in hospitals. The robot is used to monitor and record the condition of patients treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and High Care Unit (HCU).
It will also allocate funds of 150 million for PCR test packages that detect the presence of genetic material from cells, bacteria, or viruses delivered to health centers around Tanjung Perak.
"The target after this Eid, we will realize the social programs above, hope this small assistance can have a big positive impact in helping to handle this outbreak," said TPS Corporate Secretary, Erika A. Palupi.
