In the framework of electric diet, Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS) TPS uses the solar panel as its commitment to become the company that care with the environment. By increasing the solar panel then TPS also contribute to decreasing the consumption of electric with using the alternative energy which is more environmentally friendly.

TPS care and aware of electric diet in the background that electric is the vital element to every people, institution, company, where every activity need the electric. Often with the increase of industry, electric need more increase, even though 90% of power plants came from coal fossil that is a non-renewable energy.

Then very important to the electric diet with using the alternative electric such as solar panel that not produce greenhouse gas emissions, such as using electric made of fuel fossil. The solar panel is the tool to convert the heat of the sun to be electric energy. First, the heat of the sun caught by the panel then processed by photovoltaic energy afterward changed to be electric energy without using the fossil energy.

the chief of Humas, Muchammad Soleh said that TPS put up the panel on  2 points that are on the parking area in front of the old building and on the top of substation on the right of the new building. The power generated at the second point is channeled for a forklift battery charger of 8.1 kWp (kilowatt-peak). For the electric in front of the old building in the parking area of 200 Wp. While 100 Wp streamed to electric in shuttle bus port area. In front of the sub station port no. 3  streamed 50 Wp. the power generated and used to the warning light up to 2 x 50 Wp. Meanwhile, the power used to light the public road of 100 x 9 Wp.

PT. Surabaya Container Terminal or abbreviated as TPS is a subsidiary of Pelindo III Group, which is engaged in port services in the export-import and domestic container terminal services. TPS was established in 1992 as a Container Terminal Unit (UTPK) and was privatized on April 29, 1999 by P & O Dover with an ownership interest of 49%. In 2004 polling stations have reached throughput of> 1 million TEUs and continue to grow until now. On March 1, 2006 the P&O Port Holding Company was acquired by DP World, so that all assets and investments of P&O Dover transferred ownership to DP World, including a 49% stake in TPS so that the composition of TPS shares was 51% owned by PT Pelindo III and 49% owned by DP World. Since April 28, 2019, Pelindo III has purchased all DP World shares in the TPS, so that since then, TPS shares have been owned by and TPS operates under the leadership of Pelindo III.

TPS operates its core business as a container terminal operator, as an economic gateway for export-import activities in Eastern Indonesia and is the first terminal in Indonesia to implement ship safety standards and port facilities which came into force in July 2004.
