Surabaya - Surabaya - Friday (26/4), Female Employees of Surabaya Container Terminal (TPS) or TPS Kartini, visited RW 1 Kalimas Baru village, Perak Utara, Surabaya. This visit is a series of 20th Anniversary of Surabaya Container Terminal which falls on April 29, 2019, which is also packaged as an event to commemorate Kartini Day and Book Day.
In contrast to similar activities in previous years, this activity was the first activity carried out by TPS outside the work area of the TPS. "We want a warmer family atmosphere, closer to residents in the Perak area to jointly commemorate Kartini Day and this Book Day," said Legal and Commercial Manager, Erika A. Palupi.
Hundreds of residents of Perak Utara consisting of enthusiastic mothers flocked to meet the front yard of Gapura RW 1 Kalimas Baru, Perak Utara with kebaya and batik clothes to attend the series of events.
The series of events begins with yoga exercises together. Led by one TPS Kartini as an instructor, yoga exercises to remind the importance of maintaining health by exercising. Then proceed with beauty class. In collaboration with one of the well-known national cosmetic brands, mothers who attend learn to apply makeup at a basic and minimalist level. With decoration, women can look beautiful, neat and well-groomed.
As revealed by the TPS Finance Director, Nur Syamsiah, this event was held to increase women's awareness about the importance of maintaining appearance and health. "Through this activity, we want to invite citizens, especially women, to always pay attention to health and beauty, even though everyday women at home still have to pay attention to their beauty and health," said Nur.
The event was even more exciting with games about women's themes and Kartini. Through these games, a lot of information is shared, including door prizes prepared by the committee - all of which are women. There is also the appearance of the TPS Kartini reading a poem about "Today's Kartini Figure".
Kartini Perak and Kartini TPS were increasingly fused when the make up and fashion show competition began. Collaboration between residents and TPS employees is a fun collaboration when residents become self-styled models and run like models on the catwalk while TPS Kartini becomes their make-up artist.
Not only that, in order to support the world of education from an early age for children which is also a concern of women, TPS also opens English Kids Corner. The children of the villagers were given English lessons by the TPS Kartini and were invited to learn paper folding / origami techniques.
In collaboration with Pramita Lab, TPS also presents a Health Corner that provides papsmear services, breast examinations and free health consultations.
"This is the first activity in our village, where we get complete services, ranging from health, beauty and education to children, get prizes, free makeup equipment, even get free basic necessities and book for their village library, thank you TPS ,this event is really exciting, "said Ningsih, one of the residents who attended the event.
This year, the 20th TPS anniversary tagline is "Stronger to the new Heights", which contains prayers, hopes and commitments for TPS to climb higher levels in serving Users, always providing the best services and getting closer and beneficial to the community.
